Janna is a 2 year old Dalmatian spayed female who lives with Faith in the family home. Janna (then called 'Anna') was originally 'rescued' by a Dalmatian rescue group in Los Angeles when she was about 6 months old. She was found by the Humane Society wandering the streets, sick and emaciated. Gail McKenzie, of West LA Dalmatian Rescue and SoCal Save the Dals, fostered Janna and cared for her during her recovery from Pneumonia and starvation. When Janna was well enough to be permanently adopted, Gail put her picture up in her listing with Petfinders. Faith was looking to adopt a Dal to be her partner in nursing, as her beloved Jemma had passed away. Well, it was love at first sight! The little rescued Dalmatian known as 'Anna' was christened 'Janna', which in Hebrew means 'flourishing', a fitting name for a soon-to-be therapy dog who had overcome a lot of troubles in her own little life!
The above pictures were taken the day after Janna arrived in her new 'forever' home. She was about 8 months old and very happy to play with her new toys and stretch her legs after her long plane ride. Janna still loves to run and play, but is also very happy to have a job. Every 'school' day, Janna sits on the mat by the front door, making sure that she will not be left behind ... she is very relieved when her tee shirt and harness are put on and she knows that she is going to work at Trinity Western University with the nursing students. Her job includes relieving stress of the nursing students who are going through a very demanding four years learning the intense and pressured profession of nursing. Janna is in the classroom and many laboratory sessions--keeping students awake, relaxed, and motivated. As well, she is available for one-on-one time with students: for walks, visits, hugs, and grins ... Janna loves to share her love of the outdoors, her love of life and spirit of fun with everyone.
Janna is a dog with a job and she loves it!
